TGIM Interview with Lesley Hauler, Good Morning America

On this week's latest episode of TGIM, The Dean's List welcomes Lesley Hauler to the virtual stage.

Lesley at a GMA holiday party.

Lesley graduated Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in 2015, with a Bachelor's degree in Digital Broadcast Journalism.

During her time as a student, she worked with The Red and Black newspaper as a staff writer. She also spent her time as a reporter for the student-run news station and served on the executive board of UGA's Online News Association/Society of Professional Journalists chapter.

Now, as an industry professional, Lesley is Good Morning America's social producer. She proudly leads the team for the GMA Instagram account and produces numerous other types of social content.

In her personal life, Lesley loves to travel and is also a Disney fanatic. One of her favorite places she has gone to is London, where she visited many museums and explored her love for art.

During the segment, we asked her opinion on the importance and difference between GPA and experience. Lesley explained that...

"we put a lot of emphasis on what our grades are in school...but at the end of the day you are not going to go into an interview and be asked what your grade point average is. It matters more about the experience you show on your resume."

Young professionals are asking this question everywhere, and we are happy to remind them that grades are not everything.

Our takeaways from Hauler:

1. Stop apologizing. You are not a burden.

2. Experience is more valuable than grades.

3. We all work better together.

Make sure to follow Lesley on Instagram @lesleyhauler and see her work on the Good Morning America social page @goodmorningamerica.

Thank you Lesley Hauler for another amazing week of TGIM! See you next week at 6:00 pm.
