On this week's latest episode of TGIM, The Dean's List welcomes Cheslie Kryst to the virtual stage.
Cheslie graduated Cum Laude from the Honors College at the University of South Carolina.
She competed as an NCAA Division I athlete on the track and field team and has one of the top ten best performances in school history in the triple jump.
She went on to receive her Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees from Wake Forest University.
Just when you thought she had it all, Cheslie is also the reigning Miss USA and a civil litigation attorney, what a rockstar! She traveled across the nation and internationally as Miss USA, was named an Impact Ambassador for Dress for Success, and sits on the national board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
She told us what a fantastic opportunity it was to travel with Miss USA. The experience transformed her professionally, and personally.
"It was life changing and very impactful."
She met some very influential people that inspired her career as an attorney, "such as a woman who works in a program in the prison system, to work as a pipeline between the system and everyday work." She continued to say this woman and her work is a crucial part of helping the economy welcome and hire prior inmates.
Our takeaways from Kryst:
1. The people who succeed are the ones who put in the work.
2. Stop comparing yourself to others. It's more important to better yourself.
3. The only way you'll know if something is meant to work out for you is if you try.
